SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlling brightness of a display device. System for controlling brightness of a display device includes a module for determining the area of interest and a module for controlling brightness. Module for determining the area of interest is configured able to determine areas of interest for the user and comprises an applications profiler module configured able to generate profiles of applications generating windows on the said display device and a module of areas content classification made with the possibility of classifying content in the said windows basing on the said profiles of applications. Brightness control module is configured able to dynamically set a brightness level of the display device within the said areas of interest so, that areas of higher interest are displayed more brightly than areas of lower interest.

EFFECT: technical result is reduction of power consumption of the display device.
