FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: electrically conductive carbon fiber is described, consisting of filaments of carbon fibers which include a metallic coating wherein the carbon fiber filaments include the composition present on the metallic coating based on at least one polymeric binder containing conductive nanoparticles, and the concentration of the metal coating is 8-25 wt %, and the concentration of conductive nanoparticles is 0.1-1 wt %, in each case based on the weight of the carbon fibers provided with a metal coating and a composition. The method of manufacturing carbon fibers for composite materials and a fiber-reinforced composite material are described as well.
EFFECT: composite material with improved electrical conductivity is obtained.
