SUBSTANCE: optical device for measuring the refractive index of the transparent solid samples with the thickness of 0.2-1 mm. and the size of 5-12 mm, comprises: a unit with replaceable laser diodes emitting in the wavelength range of 400-1100 nm, a device for forming a narrow ray beam with the width of 60-120 microns, a pattern in the form of a plane-parallel plate, an additional transparent optical element installed with the sample at one and the same incidence angle, a system for registring the displacement value of the light beam, which is a CCD-matrix with the resolution of 2592x1944 pixels and more.

EFFECT: reducing time and increasing measurement accuracy of the refractive light index.
