FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to measure refraction index of liquid and paste-like substances by method of limit angle. Under the method of measurements by slit diaphragm the diverging light beam from several monochromatic light sources with different wave lengths is formed, by the diffuser is converted in single diverging light beam and is directed on the multispectral matrix photo receiver. The separate spectral video signals are obtained, they are used to calculate the refraction indices and dispersion of the analyzed substances. Prior to the measurements the air refraction index is measured, its value is assumed as datum point. The device comprises microprocessor with display measuring average pulse width from the line driver to the leading edge of pulses for each wave length, proportional to the refraction indices, and based on them the substance dispersion is calculated.
EFFECT: invention increases accuracy of measurements, facilitates and automates the measurement process, as well as simplifies the device design.
