FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention is relevant to the field of transport engineering. Method for manufacturing of vehicle steering wheel includes stages for manufacturing of bodywork primary structure of steering wheel equipped with metal-made hub insert, rim and with spokes. Rims are coated with polyurethane foam and with decorative finish. Bodywork primary structure is manufactured according to hybrid technology. Patterns made of sheet moulding compound are produced with the aid of plotter. Then patterns are laid out into plate work piece with the aid of pneumatic or hydraulic press in accordance with structure of package reinforcement. Rigging-placed and preliminary heated consolidated plate-work piece is shaped in the form of space structure. Its final moulding is made with the aid of pneumatic or hydraulic press. Polymer composite material is injected. Then it is cured under pressure and cooled. Bodywork primary structure is extracted from casting mould.

EFFECT: fortification of steering-wheel is achieved owing to this method.
