FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: conductor rail (1) comprises of a moulded carrier element (2) made of aluminium or an aluminium alloy and of a steel tape. The carrier element is formed as an I-beam in its cross-section. One flange (3) of the I-beam is a rail foot (1) and has a width h1. The other flange (4) of the I-beam is a rail head (1) and has a width h2. The steel tape (6) is fastened on the head (4) of the carrier element (2) from its front face (7) by means of explosion welding. The width of the rail foot is greater than the width of its head, which simplifies the manufacturing process of conductor rails, as it enables to use the same explosion for cutting a single steel sheet (13) along the longitudinal head edges (4) to form the corresponding steel tapes (6).
EFFECT: increased connection strength between the steel tape and the front face of the carrier element.
