FIELD: manufacture of conductor rails for underground railway. SUBSTANCE: T-section is made by means of squeezing. Bimetallic head is made by means of joint rolling of billet out of aluminum or its alloys and steel band; as a result bimetallic head with convex up outside surface is produced. I- beam is made through welding of bimetallic head and T-section. Joint rolling of billets out of aluminum or its alloys and steel is carried out initially at (3-5) % steel deformation level and (50- 70) % aluminum deformation level, and then at uniform deformation in layers at (1.5-3.5) % level within pass forming section of bimetallic head. EFFECT: reduced total labor input for manufacture of rail and extended service life of the same owing to division of manufacturing process into simple operations. 2 cl _
