FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: method for the periodic testing of a digital substation consists in that the digital terminals of relay protection periodically form test sequences for controlling the performance of each protection. Test signals are formed, which differ from operating signals. The test signals are set to the measuring current and voltage transformers and to the high-voltage circuit breakers control systems. Response test signals are received. The sent test signals trigger the protection. The current and voltage transformers receive and send back the received signals in parallel with the operating ones. The received signals are treated by the relay protection terminals in parallel with the operating input signals.

EFFECT: periodic testing without the tested equipment withdrawal from operation.
