FIELD: machine engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding and concerns matters of the ship hull layout into compartments by the new projects development of the nuclear icebreakers and ships with nuclear power devices intended for operation in heavy ice conditions. A nuclear-power icebreaker, having a hull, a central power compartment with a reactor and two compartments of the main turbogenerators, is introduced. The central power compartment with the reactor is located at the intersection of the ship midship-bulkhead plane and the diametrical plane. One of the said compartments of the main turbogenerators is placed on the ship diametral plane offset to the head from the central power compartment , and the other one - as well on the diametrical plane offset to the stern from the central power compartment, herewith the said compartments of the main turbogenerators are located adjacent to the central power compartment.

EFFECT: operational safety of the power device is increased, the icebreaker longitudinal balance with landing on an even keel while fulfilling all regulatory requirements to ensure the icebreaker flooding is provided.
