FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for colour marking of metal or ita alloy surface with laser pulsed radiation and can be used for treatment of metal surface. Performed is preliminary modification of metal surface with laser radiation with specific power from 10-10 J/(cm2⋅s) to specific power, at which surface acquires black colour, and at various temperatures of impact from metal melting point to metal evaporation temperature. Spectra of reflection of modified areas are measured and used to build calibration curve of reflection coefficients on specific power. Obtained values of dependence of positions of extrema of reflection coefficient on selected parameter are used to calculate reflection spectra, which are located between experimentally measured points. Shift of extrema of reflection coefficients is used to calculate colorimetric characteristics of obtained colours, values of which are used as base for determination of value to respective parameter of laser impact. Limited quantity of discreet values to specific power of laser radiation in building calibration curve of dependence of colour of modified metal or its alloy surface on said values with further measurement of reflection spectra and their analysis with isolation of extrema of reflection coefficients makes it possible to obtain complete colour palette.

EFFECT: claimed method aids in obtaining complete colour palette.
