FIELD: methods and devices for marking.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for marking a surface with controlled periodic structures and can be used for marking the surface of metal articles in order to protect them from forgery with possibility of authenticating an article. Fiber laser of nanosecond pulse duration is used. Displacement of the laser polarized beam is performed by the method of line-by-line scanning over the entire processing area and with simultaneous dynamic change of direction of the polarization vector of laser radiation. A rainbow image is formed, which contains visual and hidden signs of authenticity. Product identification can be performed by reading the monitored label parameters and comparing them with the values entered in the databases.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method of surface marking with controlled periodic structures.
