SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a methanol distillation and can be used in the chemical industry. Method of purifying crude methanol stream comprises pretreating of crude methanol at the stripping stage 100 for separating the volatile components at stripping pressure (p1) and distillation of methanol 200 from the degassed crude methanol solution. Distillation of methanol comprises at least one final distillation step of 400 methanol at the distillation pressure (p4), which is higher than the stripping pressure (p1). The gaseous stream of distilled methanol obtained in the final distillation step 400 is used as a heat source for at least part of the heat flow for preliminary stripping step 100. Distillation of methanol comprises at least one distillation step 200 located upstream from the final distillation step 400. The solution was partially distilled methanol prepared by at least one distillation step 200 is fed to a final distillation step 400. The value or values of the pressure (p2) at the distillation step or steps 200, located upstream from the final distillation step 400 is higher than the pressure (p4) at the final step 400.
