FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: in the claimed invention a coil of an optical cable sample with an inner diameter of at least ten times the acceptable bending radius is mounted on the shaker bed platform. The optical jointed connector is attached to the platform in any manner excluding its spontaneous movement of the platform when under a vibration load. The sample is fixed on the platform on both sides of the shaker by clamps. At both ends the cable is coiled to an inner diameter of at least 20 nominal outer diameters of the cable or wound on drums with a neck diameter similar to the diameter of the coil. The ends of the sample to be tested are accordingly connected to an emitter and receiver with an optical power meter which are linked to the respective ends of the tested cable.

EFFECT: definition of the parameters - criteria of product availability with no mechanical damage to its structure.
