FIELD: optical cables.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a means for testing optical cables. The method consists in checking the resistance of optical cable samples to mechanical loads simulating the conditions of cable laying. Next, a test cycle is carried out, containing exposure of the mentioned samples to the minimum temperature, exposure to the maximum temperature and exposure to high humidity. The above test cycle is repeated at least nine additional times. At the end of each test cycle, the mentioned samples are kept under normal climatic conditions, after which the parameters are monitored.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the accuracy of determining the durability.
