FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes the step of cracked hydrocarbon oil and hydrogen production by bringing water and hydrocarbon oil containing at least one compound from diene and olefin, in contact with a cracking catalyst at a temperature of 375-550°C for cracking, and the step of reduction of content of at least one diene and olefin compound by bringing hydrogen and cracked hydrocarbon oil obtained in the previous step in contact with the hydrogenation catalyst at a temperature of 100-374° to provide hydrogenating of the cracked hydrocarbon oils. At that, the hydrogenation reaction is carried out in such a way, that, if the ratio of hydrogen content associated with a terminal double carbon-carbon bond of diene or olefin and hydrogen in the cracked hydrocarbon oil after the hydrogenation reaction is referred to as A, and the ration of hydrogen content associated with internal double carbon-carbon bond of diene or olefin and hydrogen in the cracked hydrocarbon oil after the hydrogenation reaction is referred to as B, the A/B value is in the range of 0 to 0.5.
EFFECT: reduction of olefins or dienes in a hydrocarbon oil.
