FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of upgrading heavy hydrocarbons, involving loading heavy hydrocarbon feedstock into a cracking reactor, injecting catalyst into the cracking reactor, cracking raw material in a reactor with subsequent separation of cracked heavy hydrocarbons of ballast impurities, where prior to loading into raw material reactor it is heated, and catalyst used is steam-air mixture containing hydrogen. Steam-air mixture is produced from water in steam generator with temperature from 600 to 700 °C and pressure from 23 to 25 MPa, and before injection into cracking reactor it is saturated with micro-sized particles of metals or their mixtures in amount of 0.1 g to 200 g per 1 kg of steam-air mixture. Also disclosed is a heavy hydrocarbons refining unit for implementing the method described above.
EFFECT: development of method and installation of refining of heavy hydrocarbons, providing high efficiency refining directly at points of their production due to high degree of conversion of heavy hydrocarbons into lighter ones.
