METHOD FOR PRODUCING WELDING MATERIALS MODIFYING AGENT Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC C22C35/00 B82Y30/00 B23K35/362

Abstract RU 2618041 C2

FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: as powders of a refractory chemical compound, refractory chemical compounds of transition metals are used selected from IV, V and VI groups of the periodic system, with carbon, nitrogen or boron in the form of a powder mixture containing nano, ultra and micro-sized particles. First, the said mixture of powders is mixed with the mixing agent in a ratio of from 2.3:1 to 4:1, and the obtained mixture is forced through a sieve to form granules of at least 500 m, dried at a temperature of 250-300°C to ensure dry residue of mixing agent 7-14% from the weight of the obtained granules, then the granules are mixed with slag-forming component in the form of flux to form granules having a size in the range of 0.25-1.6 mm in a ratio of 1:2.3 to 1:0.75, the resulting mixture is heated for 5-10 minutes at temperature Tx, selected from ratio Tr>Tx≥Tsf+50°C, where Tr is the melting point of refractory chemical compound of transition metals; Tsf is the melting temperature slag-forming component, after which it is cooled, and the crystallized slag is ground and divided into fractions with a size of 50-100 mcm.

EFFECT: invention allows to create a modifiying agent, ensuring in the melting process in the reaction zone of welding a high degree of safety of nano, ultra and micro-sized particles of refractory compounds in the modifiying agent microgranules, and improve the stability of the welding arc existence.
