FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods for production of hydrogels. According to present invention, disclosed is a method of producing polymer hydrogel, comprising steps of: preparing aqueous solution of water-soluble derivative of polysaccharide and polycarboxylic acid; mixing solution, for example by stirring; extraction of composite derivative of polysaccharide/polycarboxylic acid from solution and heating composite derivative of polysaccharide/polycarboxylic acid at a temperature of about 80°C to allow cross-linking of polysaccharide polycarboxylic acid. Present invention also discloses polymer hydrogels, obtained using methods according to present invention, use of polymer hydrogels as a pharmaceutical composition, medicinal agent for reducing calorie intake, treating obesity, improving glycemic control, agent for preventing diabetes.

EFFECT: group of inventions enables to produce hydrogels having improved sorption properties, furthermore, polymer hydrogels are relatively dense, but retain significant ability to absorb mixture of artificial gastric juice with water.
