SUBSTANCE: embodiments of the invention provide a method for returning channel status information, user equipment and a base station to improve feedback accuracy for the channel status information. The method includes: reception of a reference signal sent by the base station; selection of W matrix of precoding from the codebook according to the reference signal, where the column bit vector of the precoding W matrix can be expressed as α[v e^jφv]^T, v = [1 e^jθ], where α is a constant, θ and - φ are phases and, []^T means the matrix and vector transposition; and sending the indicator of precoding PMI matrix to the base station, where PMI corresponds to the selected precoding W matrix.

EFFECT: invention allows to further improve the accuracy of quantization and to achieve a balance between costs and accuracy of quantization.
