SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the flow sensor system (200). The flow sensor system (200) includes a density meter (202) or specific gravity meter, comprising a sensor assembly (204a) and meter electronics (204b) of the density or specific gravity meter, configured to measure density or specific gravity of the process fluid. The flow sensor system (200) further includes a mass flow meter (203) comprising a sensor assembly (205a) and meter electronics (205b) of the mass flow meter, configured to obtain the mass flow rate of the process fluid and electrically connected to the density or or specific gravity meter electronics (204b). A remote processing system (207) is provided, electrically connected to only one meter electronics (204b) of the density or specific gravity meter, or with meter electronics (205b) of the mass flow meter. The remote processing system (207) is configured for receipt of process fluid volume flow rate or energy flow measurement, formed by meter electronics (204b) of the density or specific gravity meter or meter electronics (205b) of the volume flow meter based on the generated measurement of density or specific gravity and generated mass flow.
EFFECT: invention provides reduction in the number of wires between meters and the central processing system, simplified replacement of meters by eliminating the need to reprogram the central system.
