FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method to determine temperature of an element (204A, 205A, 205'A) of a vibration sensor connected to a pipeline (203A, 203B) of a vibration meter (200). The method includes a stage of signal supply (313) for detection of temperature to the element (204A, 205A, 205'A) of the vibration sensor. The method also comprises a stage of measurement of the resulting signal (314), at the same time the resulting signal comprises at least one of voltage and current. The method additionally comprises a stage of temperature detection of the element (204A, 205A, 205'A) of the sensor on the basis of the signal (313) of temperature detection and the resulting signal (314).

EFFECT: provision of possibility to determine sensor temperature, which may then be used to determine temperature of a pipeline, to which it is connected.
