SUBSTANCE: laser rangefinder with a birefringent radiation combiner comprises a receiver and a transmitter including an objective and two laser emitters whose output radiation beams are polarized and aligned by an optical adder in the form of a birefringent plane-parallel plate. In this case, the laser emitters are located on the side of one of its faces so that their optical axes are parallel, and the planes of polarization of the laser radiation are mutually perpendicular. In addition, the birefringent plate is rotatably supported about an axis parallel to the optical axes of the laser emitters, to angles 0≤α≤αmax, where αmax is the limiting value of the rotation angle of the plate, the thickness of the birefringent plate satisfying the condition h≥a/tgβ, where h is the plate thickness; A - the maximum permissible distance between the optical axes of the laser emitters; β - the angle of refraction of the extraordinary beam, and the limiting value of the angle of rotation of the birefringent plate satisfies the condition where is the permissible reduction factor of the radiation power; I0 - radiation power at the output of the birefringent plate at α=0; I is the minimum permissible radiation power at the output of the birefringent plate along the axis of the lens.

EFFECT: increase the range of the range finder and reduce the level of reflections from extraneous objects close to its axis.
