FOUR-MODE GYROSCOPE ON STABILISED SOLID-STATE LASER WITHOUT DEAD BAND Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC G01C19/66 H01S3/83

Abstract RU 2382333 C2

FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to solid-state laser gyroscopes, intended for measurement of rotation speed or relative angular positions, and is used, in particular in the field of aeronavigation. Gyroscope comprises optical elements (8, 9) of polarisation separation, mutual (4) and nonmutual (5, 13) spinners of polarisation plane, as a result of which four linearly polarised optical modes are distributed in resonator (1), frequencies of which differ to a sufficient extent in order to avoid synchronisation of modes.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to produce "fully optical" stable solid-state laser, which does not have movable parts and dead band.
