SUBSTANCE: discloses methods and apparatus for signal evaluation by means of a wireless device in a wireless communication system. The wireless device receives a scaling factor, which describes the relationship between the signal estimates for the first and second signals of the first type. The wireless device additionally receives estimation reference signal which contains signal estimate for the first signal of the second type. The wireless device then determines selectively the wireless device to the second estimate of the signal of the second type of reference signal by scaling the signal evaluation by means of the scaling factor. The first and second signals of the first type associated with the first radio network node. First and second signals of the second type associated with the second radio network node.

EFFECT: obtaining reliable and accurate estimations of signals to the cell as the serving and neighbor that can be served by a node with low power in creating strong interference environment.
