FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an arrester for the lightning protection of electrical components or a power line, comprising an insulating body (1) made of a dielectric material, and five or more electrodes (2) mechanically connected to the insulating body and arranged to enable the possibility of forming, under the influence of lightning surge, the electric discharge between adjacent electrodes, the electrodes being arranged inside the insulating body and separated from the surface by the insulation layer. The adjacent electrodes protrude into the discharge chambers (3) having the outlets to the insulating body surface. At least part of the discharge chambers is provided with pressure chambers (4) arranged near the electrodes and connected to the discharge chambers through discharge gaps between adjacent electrodes.
EFFECT: quenching the discharge arc after passing the lightning surge pulse.
