FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of electric engineering, in particular, to lightning arresters of electric equipment or power transmission line elements. Result is achieved due to several factors, among which there is reinforcement by longer electrodes of insulating body, as well as large mass and heat capacity of electrodes, which contribute to additional removal of heat from discharge channel, arc quenching and reduction of heat load on insulation of arrester. Reliability and manufacturability are provided by protruding parts of electrodes protruding from insulating body, which makes it possible to manufacture insulating body in one stage due to possibility of electrodes fixation in mold, which also increases strength of insulating body due to absence of seams and connections in it. Besides, the protruding electrodes increase the reliability of the arrester, since at excessive increase of the discharge overvoltage the discharge may start on external parts of the electrodes, thus protecting discharge chambers in the insulating body from burning out.
EFFECT: technical result consists in simultaneous increase in strength, reliability and manufacturability of arrester, as well as in increasing range of lightning currents, which it can withstand without damage.
