SUBSTANCE: method of compensating the modulation transferring function (MTF) is based on the use of the correction filter, which is estimated based on matching the information obtained by various opto-electronic devices with different and unknown MTF. The filter estimated in this way considers the specific distortions of the imaging path. Herewith the proposed method does not require knowledge of the actual MTF, the definition of which is a difficult task.

EFFECT: enhancing the functionality by compensating the image modulation transferring function of the same scene, but differing in its display clarity, bringing all the images to a single modulation transferring function, which is the closest to the modulation transferring function of the opto-electronic device with a better spatial resolution.
