FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: genetic structure contains genes of two fluorescent proteins with distinct fluorescence spectra. Expression of one fluorescent protein gene is activated by stopped translation of the preceding genetically modified Escherichia coli tryptophan operon attenuator. Expression of the second gene is activated by de-repression of the preceding Escherichia coli sulA gene promoter. The genetic structure is a plasmid, transforming E. coli bacterial cells to obtain the E. coli tolC Δreporter strain.

EFFECT: obtained strain allows efficient analysis of a large number of substances or mixtures to find antibacterial agents, while identifying those that inhibit protein biosynthesis or induce SOS-response to DNA damage.
