FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method for producing expandable polystyrene particles for thermal insulation, comprising the preparation of a mixture of expandable polystyrene particles and a heat insulating material by mixing expandable polystyrene particles and a heat insulating material, preparing a solution for the mixture by dissolving the chlorinated paraffin and at least one of paraffin oil and chloroprene rubber in an organic solvent, which dissolves styrene, and softening the surface layer of expandable polystyrene particles by spraying of this solution into the mixture with stirring, infiltration of the heat insulating material, chlorinated paraffin and at least one of the paraffin oil and chloroprene rubber into the surface layer of the expandable polystyrene particles. Expanding particles of polystyrene for thermal insulation, obtained by this method are also described.

EFFECT: providing expanding polystyrene particles for thermal insulation that does not stick together after packaging and has improved thermal conductivity, bending breaking load and compressive strength.
