FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method is described for making pellets from polystyrene foam, involving: obtaining suspended, homogeneous microspheres from a composition, prepared by mixing graphite particles with a styrene based resin and extrusion of the composition; and primordial polymerisation by suspending graphite-containing microspheres in water and addition of a styrene based monomer and an aromatic hydrocarbon with 6 to 10 carbon atoms, and saturation with a foaming agent.
EFFECT: pellets made from polystyrene foam are obtained, which contain graphite particles, have low thermal conductivity, and can retain heat insulating properties for a long time.
