FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: infrared gum thermography is performed at room temperature, using a thermal imager installed opposite the oral cavity at a distance of 0.5 m obtaining a colour image on the thermal imager screen. Dynamics of the gum surface local temperature is evaluated before, during and after short-term intraoral cooling in accordance with the uniformity and symmetry of the spreading of the temperature decrease zone along the length of the gums with epy distance from the median line. Cooling is performed by gum blowing with an air stream at a temperature below the surface temperature. A thermal imager with a gum image function on the screen is used, with colours from red to violet depending on its local temperature in the range of +29 - +39°C. A household hair dryer with the function of creation of a uniform air flow at room temperature is used as a blowing device, gum front surface is blown from a distance of 10-25 cm with air flow intensity providing gum temperature reduction by several degrees in the range of the study for period of 10 to 30 seconds. In case of presence of a site with local hyperthermia, a thermographic photograph of the gum is made, its shape, size and localization is specified. In case of local hyperthermia, a conclusion is made about the presence of an erupting tooth, its shape, size, location in the jaw. If the temperature is uniform, a conclusion is made on gum surface structure homogeneity and absence of an erupting tooth in it, after which the second gum is examined.
EFFECT: method provides fast, accurate, safe identification of local hyperthermia in the gum area, indicating the localization, number, size and shape of erupting baby teeth.
