FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: separator for carbon dioxide containing, inter alia, in the flue gas of power plants on fossil fuels is described, including an absorption assembly, a desorption assembly imparted thereto, and a separating assembly for separating salts from the wash solution. Wherein the absorption and desorption assemblies are intercommunicated by the first pipeline for the recovered wash solution (A) and the second pipeline for the saturated washing solution (A'). The separating assembly comprises a mould for the salts crystals formation, and a separation unit located on the side of the flowing stream for separating the salts crystals. The corresponding method of the separator operation is described as well. The separating assembly for separating salts from the washing solution, which contains the mould and the first separation unit located on the side of the flowing stream for separating the salt crystals. The mould comprises a crystallization chamber to form salt crystals and a countercurrent classifier to classify the salt crystals according to their size. The first branch piping passing into the countercurrent classifier through the second separation unit is connected to the crystallization chamber.
EFFECT: invention allows to separate the salts from the washing solution, to prevent the corrosion development and to improve the washing solution fluidity.
