FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: reactor comprises reactor chamber (1) and radiating wall for transferring heat from inner surface (8) of reactor chamber wall (1) by means of radiation for maintaining overall endothermic reaction in gas phase flowing in reactor chamber (1). The reactor chamber (1) has inlet port (2) for introducing gaseous reagent in continuous mode, outlet port (3) for release of gaseous product in continuous mode, catalyst segments (5) containing the catalyst material (4) through which the gas stream flows and comes in contact with it, the void segments (6) in which the heat from the inner wall surface (8) to the surface (9) of the catalyst segment (5) is provided, to form section surface between catalyst segment (5) and void segment (6), as well as heating means for heating the reactor chamber (1). The outer surface (15) of reactor chamber wall (1) has temperature higher than inner surface (8) of reactor chamber wall (1). The reactor chamber (1) is made of material withstanding temperature of 700°C or higher, allowing heat flux to radiate through inner wall surface (8) in one or more catalyst segments (5) in range of 15 kW/m2 up to 100 kW/m2. The catalyst segments (5) comprise or represent porous metal foam structure providing support for catalyst or serving as catalyst and each have one void segment (6) on both sides, and void segment (6) comprises a support element (10).
EFFECT: uniform distribution of temperature inside reactor chamber, increase of thermal radiation from inner wall surface of reactor chamber and efficient heat exchange.
