SUBSTANCE: egg processing system (10) comprises a controller for receiving a signal classification. The signal indicates the state (or condition) of each egg (25) of the plurality. Egg carrier delivers eggs. Upper transporting unit for removing a plurality of eggs from the carrier is connected with the controller. Eggs are grouped into at least two subsets on the basis of their status (condition). Controller for operating the upper transporting unit selectively and separately releases the eggs subsets in accordance with their status. Upper carrying unit contains a number of lifting devices (80) for individual and selective release of retained eggs. A plurality of eggs are transported in a tray (30) conveyor to the classifying device for processing (60). Eggs are calibrated, given a certain status and referred to one of the subsets. Egg status is transmitted to a controller for operating the upper transporting unit (70). Simultaneously, both subgroups of eggs are removed from egg tray conveyor with the help of many upper lifting devices of the transfer unit. Selectively one subgroup is released from lifting devices. The other subgroup is released from lifting devices of the upper transferring unit.
EFFECT: selective sorting and transporting of eggs is provided according to the classification.
