SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to an egg processing plant and method. Installation comprises a carcass, a lifting unit operatively connected to the carcass and having a pulley system comprising an elongated drive element and a drive pulley. Installation also includes an egg processing head having egg handling devices and a crosspiece. Elongated drive element is operatively connected to the head crosspiece at its opposite ends so that the rotation of the drive pulley causes the elongate drive element to be wound or unwound from the drive pulley, facilitating the vertical movement of the egg processing head. Egg processing method includes feeding eggs to an egg processing plant comprising an egg processing head. Egg processing head is lowered by means of a lifting block having a pulley system, so that the rotation of the drive pulley in the first direction causes the elongate drive element to be unwound from the drive pulley by lowering the egg processing head. Then the eggs are processed with egg processing devices. After the drive pulley is rotated in a direction opposite to the first direction, for winding the elongated drive element onto the drive pulley, lifting the egg processing head.
EFFECT: invention provides improved control and movement of the egg processing head.
