METHOD OF CULTIVATING JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE IN FODDER CROP ROTATION Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A01G1/00 A01B79/02

SUBSTANCE: method consists in autumn pre-plant soil cultivation, applying organic and mineral fertilizers, cutting seedbeds with technological intervals therebetween, planting seed tubers in autumn or spring, spring-summer inter-row cultivation, planting in seedbeds, care for plantings and mowing stalks for forage. Wherein in the first year, pre-plant strip cultivation of the field occupied by sowings of perennial grasses is carried out, with forming technological intervals. In the strips, seedbeds and ridges are cut; in the first, second and third years, care for sowing of grasses is taken. Before the spring-summer inter-row cultivation of Jerusalem artichoke, the grasses are mowed, crushed and scattered on the plantings of Jerusalem artichoke. After the growth of Jerusalem artichoke stalks to the height of 60-70 cm its first mowing is carried out, and in the autumn - the second one, along with perennial grasses. At the 3rd year in the autumn, the technological intervals are disked, and ploughing is carried out. At the 4th year in spring, pre-sowing cultivation of the technological intervals, sowing of fodder lupine mixed with oats, care for crops and the first mowing of Jerusalem artichoke of the height of 60-70 cm and the fodder lupine with oats for green mass are carried out. In autumn, the second mowing of Jerusalem artichoke stalks, disking, autumn ploughing, pre-planting cultivation of technological intervals and planting Jerusalem artichoke tubers in the seedbeds are carried out. At the 5th year, early spring inter-row cultivation of plantings, hilling in the seedbeds, with subsequent mowing Jerusalem artichoke for green mass, are carried out.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the amount of harvested fodders, to obtain a balanced fodder mixture, to preserve ecological balance and soil fertility.
