FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: process is carried out in an autoclave, inside which there is a container with water, where white phosphorus is placed. The method includes supplying air to the autoclave at a pressure of 0.4-0.6 MPa. Oxygen is absorbed and reacts with phosphorus, forming phosphorus pentoxide followed by hydration to phosphoric acid, and free nitrogen remains above the solution in the autoclave.
EFFECT: obtaining nitrogen from the air and obtaining phosphoric acid as a by-product in one apparatus.
