SUBSTANCE: method and apparatus for communicating through visible light. The method comprises the step of selecting the first sequence and the second sequence of frequencies of light intensity to represent the first symbol and second symbol, respectively, for data embedding. The method comprises the further step of transmitting the light signal. The light signal includes periods in which the intensity of the light signal light consistently controlled according to the selected sequence of the intensity of light frequencies. Thus, the light signal is generated by frequency hopping, in which the data can be integrated. The light signal can be generated and transmitted to a device comprising light emitter.
