FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: proposal refers to hybrid functional materials, and consists in the creation of a new polymer membrane designed to separate a mixture of methanol and hexane by pervaporation. The membrane is obtained from a hybrid polymer material with a predominant permeability for methanol, consisting of polyphenylene-isophthalamide and a polyimide brush (in an amount of 5-20 wt %), which is a regularly grafted polyimide with side chains of polymethylmethacrylate and is designed as a non-porous, dense film 5 thickness 25÷40 mcm. Using this hybrid membrane pervaporation process will significantly increase the separation factor reaches 434 at pervaporation azeotrope containing 27% methanol in hexane, using membranes from polyphenylene iso-phthalamide, containing 20 wt % of Polyimide brush.
EFFECT: providing a high separation capacity of the membrane under pervaporation mixture of methanol and hexane, resistance to separate mixtures in a wide range of concentrations.
