FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of extracting zirconium from acidic aqueous zirconium-containing solutions by deposition by introducing a source of fluoride ion upon heating, followed by cooling to room temperature, is provided. As a starting zirconium-containing solution, a solution with a sulfuric acid concentration of 10-300 g/l is used. As a source of fluoride ion, a mixture of potassium or sodium fluoride and hydrofluoric acid is used in the ratio K(Na):HF=0,5÷1,5:1,0. The mixture is introduced in an amount of 10÷30 ml/1 g Zr at a temperature of 40-60°C and after cooling, it is held for 22-24 hours.
EFFECT: opportunity provides the possibility of extracting zirconium from solutions with a low zirconium content at a high recovery rate.
