FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aviation, in particular to the designs of aircraft planes with flapping wings. Inertial ornithopter has got wings, a seat for the pilot and/or cargo mounting spot. Ornithopter contains rocking device for rocking the pilot and/or the cargo in the vertical direction relative to the plane of the wings, creation of inertia forces acting on the apparatus in the direction of up and down alternately. The device is arranged in such a way that in the static state and in the phase of downward movement during the swaying of the pilot and/or the cargo with respect to the plane of the wings the force exerted by the weight of the pilot and/or the cargo on the apparatus is directed downward, the point of application of this force is below the plane of the wings, and in phase of upstroke movement, during the swaying of the pilot and/or the cargo, a point of application of force, directed upward, is located above the plane of the wings. The design of the wings and tail ornithopter is such that ensures the absence of counter-resistance to air flow, directed from top downward when moving the apparatus up. Vehicle weight without pilot and cargo has a sufficiently small value compared with the weight of swaying pilot and/or cargo.
EFFECT: this design allows the ornithopter to take off and gain altitude while rocking pilot or cargo.
