FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: ornithopter comprises a body (1), pilot's seat (2), chassis (11), motor (12), control system and resiliently flexible wing (4), raised above the body and mounted on the pivot bearings (8, 9) of the housing frame (3), spaced symmetrically on opposite sides relative to the ornithopter symmetry plane. The hinges (8, 9) conditionally separate the wing into the central and outer segments. The distance between the supports is selected so that the cantilevered parts of the wing and the central part oscillate in antiphase with maximal amplitude difference not more than 15% while elastically curving. An additional hinge (10) is installed in one of the hinge supports for the wing central part length changes compensation. The engine waving force through the transmission mechanism is applied in the middle of the wing.
EFFECT: increased controllability at low speeds, simplified structure of the aircraft.
