FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: neutron generator comprises a conductive grounded housing filled with a high-voltage dielectric with a conductive container sealed therein sealed with a neutron tube having two acceleration gaps separated by an accelerating electrode whose target is electrically connected to the grounded housing and the ion source housing is disposed in the volume of the conductive container, an accelerating voltage source connected between the conductive grounded housing and the conductive container. Source accelerating voltage consists of two series-connected high-voltage sources, the output of the first of which is connected to the input of the second and is connected to the accelerating electrode via a high resistance resistor, and the output of the second coupled via a ballast resistor to the conductive container, parallel to the high-voltage resistor which connects the first source to the accelerating electrode, a diode connected in series to the cathode of the first high-voltage source and a damping resistor, while between the accelerating electrode and the conductive grounded case the condensor is placed, and between the conductive container and the housing of the ion source the current limiting resistor is located.
EFFECT: increasing the reliability of the neutron generator.
