FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method for determining the optical information signal transmitting channel includes measuring the optical channel attenuation from the optical radiation source to the optical radiation receiver. Herewith the laser beam movement is performed in coordination with the linear receiver movement, the distance is fixed from the laser beam axis to the burnable material. The signal value is previously recorded in the fixed wavelength of the optical radiation source, corresponding to the power level of the laser radiation in the absence of the air plasma stream, further the signal values are recorded in the presence of plasma, which corresponds to the power level of the laser radiation passed through the layer of the air plasma thickness and at the fixed distance, and the signal value is recorded corresponding to the power level of the laser radiation passed through the absorbing plasma layer of the test burnable material.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of determining the optical channel attenuation and determining the area of the laser radiation frequencies, for which the plasma absorbing layer is transparent, providing the possibility of selecting the optimum laser type based on the amount of the optical channel attenuation.
