FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: after spleen removal, its weight is determined. In the histological sections of the lymphoid organ after immunohistochemical staining, the number of CD4+ T-lymphocytes is morphometrically counted and their mass is calculated by the formula: M = m×D/100%, where M is the weight of CD4+ T-lymphocytes (g), m is the weight of the spleen (g), D is the number of CD4+ T-cells (%). For T-lymphcytes CD4+ weights greater than and equal to 5.4 g, a favourable course of aplastic anemia is stated, and for those less than 5.4 g, an unfavourable course of the disease is predicted.
EFFECT: application of this method in practical hematology allows to predict the course of aplastic anemia after splenectomy, regardless of the disease severity, which makes it possible to differentiate the appointment of therapy.
