SUBSTANCE: video surveillance system contains a workplace with a computer and an operator control module connected to it and a controller with a digital video surveillance module connected to it. The digital video surveillance module contains a video camera and a multiplexer, to the output of which video cameras, an operator control module containing a control video camera and a microphone are connected. Moreover, an additional computer is connected to the computer, designed with the possibility of introducing 2D format protected area plans, virtual images to check the operator's alertness, service information, questions and instructions to the security operator. The method for forming a video image includes video monitoring of the protected area using a video camera and outputting the resulting image to the monitor screen. Moreover, the 2D format protected area plan is preliminary developed and introduced into the computer, protected objects and fencing in 3D format are placed on this plan, video recording from one of the video cameras in the form of a sector in real time in dynamics is overlayed on the plan of the protected area.

EFFECT: increased visibility and informational content of video surveillance in a protected object with a minimum provision it with equipment.
