METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EXCITTING THE CHAIN OF LEDS Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC H05B33/08 H05B37/02

Abstract RU 2625332 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and apparatus for driving a chain of LEDs from a first LED segment (11) and at least one additional LED segment (12, 13, 14) connected in series. Each LED segment has at least one light emitting diode (LED). A chain of light-emitting diodes is fed with the rectified voltage of a feeding network of an alternating current. The first LED segment (11) is powered when the rectified AC supply voltage is above the first voltage level, and the first LED segment and the additional LED segment are energized when the rectified AC supply voltage is higher than the second voltage level higher than the first voltage level. The first LED segment emits light having a first colour temperature and an additional LED segment emits light having a second colour temperature higher than the first colour temperature. The light emitted by the first LED segment and the light emitted by the additional LED segment overlap, with the first LED segment emitting red, orange, yellow or amber light, and the additional LED segment emits white light.

EFFECT: automatic achievement of the visual effect of dimming with a warm colour as in an incandescent lamp, when the brightness of the light source decreases and the colour of the light becomes warm.
