SUBSTANCE: invention relates to driver device (1) and to corresponding method of excitation for excitation of load (100), in particular set of LEDs, containing two or more light-emitting diodes. Result is achieved by fact that driver device comprises power supply terminals (10) to receive supply voltage (VS), load terminals (20) for load connection with said driver device and to provide electric energy to load to excite said load, storage module (40) for accumulation of electric energy received at said power supply terminals, connection module (50) connected between said power supply terminals and storage module for controlled providing electric energy from said power supply terminals to said accumulator module, first module (60) is connected between said power supply terminals and said load for provision of electric energy from said power supply terminals to one or more of said load terminals with possibility to switch, second switching unit (70) connected between above storage module and said load for provision of electric energy accumulated in said accumulation module, on one or more of said load terminals with possibility to switch and control module (80) to control said connecting module and said first and second switching modules.
EFFECT: enabling independent power supply to load, in particular in identical or different overlapping parts of load (for example, in different segments of light-emitting diodes chain).
