FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: flux additive is designed for mixing with fused fluxes and can be used for submerged arc welding of steels. The flux-additive contains components in the following ratio, wt %: strontium-barium carbonatite 1-15, sodium liquid glass 25-50, dust of electrostatic precipitators of aluminium production 35-74. The dust of electrostatic precipitators of aluminium production contains, wt %: Al2O3 20-46.23; F 16-26.7; Na2O 7.6-15; K2O 0.4-6; CaO 0.6-2.3; SiO2 0.5-2.48; Fe2O3 2.1-3.27; Ctotal 12.5-30.2; MnO 0.07-0.9; MgO 0.06-0.9; S 0.08-0.19; P 0.09-0.18.
EFFECT: improved mechanical properties of welds, in particular, impact strength at temperatures below zero due to reduction of the level of contamination with nonmetallic inclusions.
