SUBSTANCE: device contains abrasive and test sample holders, as well as mechatronic modules connected by the controller with the computer and the information input unit, controlling the motion of the abrasive holder and sample holders in the computer program and regulating the duration of the action, speed and power parameters of loading the samples. The device is also provided with an optoelectronic unit for digital scanning of the surface of a sample of textile material after an abrasion operation that is connected to a computer, according to a predetermined program, performing processing of the data received from the optoelectronic data block with counting the number of pills and comparing the result with the identifier indices.

EFFECT: expansion of the technological capabilities of the method, increasing the objectivity and accuracy of assessing the resistance of textile materials to pillingability and providing the possibility of forming a database of pillingability in electronic form.
